Cord Key

Ever lose the little wire tool that came with your interchangeable needle and hook sets to tighten and loosen the cables?  Find yourself raiding your desk drawer for a paper clip of the right size?  Search no further - you need a cord key with a hand-scrolled handle (no CNC or laser cutters here!).

Sporting the same patterns I use to make the cutouts in my spindles, each Cord Key is small enough to be used with just your thumb and forefinger , but not so small it will disappear in your knitting bag.

I have a confession to make.  I have a really hard time tossing out pieces of wood that are too small to make another spindle... especially if it's a really nice exotic wood.  After all, I might use them "some day".  Before his health started failing him, every time Daddy came to visit, first thing he would do is go out and start to clean my shop, and I would have to stop him from throwing my micro lumber into the chiminea.  I needed those pieces for future projects.  I didn't know what, but I knew I needed them.  Some of these pieces have been around long enough to have been to Florida and back with me through two household moves waiting for their day to shine.  Well, "some day" is here.
